The only summer sandals you'll need for summer...

The sun is shining in London finally and fingers crossed the warmth is here to stay.  Over the past few years I’ve added to my Aruna Seth collection with a classic summer sandal.  I’m lucky enough to own the Aruna Seth black ‘Mia’ sandals, navy ‘Jemima’ summer sandals and nude ‘Jemima’ summer sandals...

I don’t like to be biased towards my Aruna Seth shoes, but I have to say investing in these sandals has been the best decision I’ve made out of all my shoe ‘investments.’  Aruna Seth sandals are perfect because the grosgrain ribbon means they’re superior quality and these sandals las years.  In recessionary times it’s so much better devoting to a higher priced quality product which lasts and is versatile than spending less money on products which are bad quality and won’t last.  You can wear  Aruna Seth sandals casually with a maxi dress or jeans for summer days and even be comfortable all day at Polo matches wearing them and still look smart.  Owning a pair in the classic colour of black, navy and nude helps too and they’re the only shoes I need to own for my Summer looks.  I'll probably add to my collection this year again with another black pair, any excuse!

French Tuesday at Brompton Club...

Aruna, myself and the Aruna Seth team headed to French Tuesdays at Brompton Club last night.  French Tuesdays was born in 2003, a small group of people gathered in New York who desired a more sophisticated alternative to the nightlife options available.  That gathering planted the seeds for what has become a nationwide social movement called French Tuesdays!

The night which happens on a Tuesday has been established in LA, New York, Sao Paulo and other major cities for years and has finally crossed the pond to London.  We loved being at the fabulous Brompton Club and drinking Laurent-Perrier Champagne.  French Tuesdays was a fabulous evening to network with some London professionals and show off our Seth's...

Bruce Oldfield...

We were privileged to meet the lovely Bruce Oldfield a few days ago and see his gorgeous gowns in-store.  Bruce Oldfield is a British fashion designer, best known for his couture occasion wear. He dresses Hollywood actresses, British and International royalty; famous clients have included Diana, Princess of Wales.  We were excited to be able to touch and see the gorgeous black sequin fitted dress Kim Kardashian wore to the Golden Globes recently.  Bruce Oldfield has a boutique on Beachamp Place in Knightsbridge, he is well worth a visit for extra special occasion wear...

Kate Middleton's sparkly feet...

Kate Middleton took a fashion risk with her feet last night, wearing sparkle on her feet instead of her usual plain trademark shoes.  The Royal couple joined the ‘Thirty Club’ at Claridges for a dinner, whose members are some of the most powerful men and women in advertising and the media.  Kate Middleton’s dress designed by Roland Mouret, had a demure high neckline and was teamed with crystal-studded Jimmy Choo Vamp sandals that revealed crimson-painted toenails.  Kate’s uncharacteristic choice of heels even meant she had to forgo her signature shiny nude tights.
Did Kate Middleton take Nicholas Kirkwood’s recent criticisms about her footwear to heart?  In the Daily Mail, Kirkwood accused Kate of playing it too safe when it comes to footwear and she should wear more designer labels because “she’s meant to be a princess-y type of person, so act like one."  I asked Aruna for a counter-quote to Nicholos Kirkwood's comments and she said, “Aruna Seth shoes trademark statement is that we make shoes ‘fit for a Princess.’ We were unbelievably excited to see Kate in these sparkly shoes and take more of a risk with her foot-wear.  We hope she realises the sensation a bit of sparkle can cause and starts wearing more crystals.  Shiny, sparkly shoes will be a big hit this next season and Kate is at the fore-front of this twinkling trend.”

We are very much hoping Kate Middleton chooses to wear some Aruna Seth sparkles on her feet the next-time...

Delicious food at the Mayfair Hotel's Quince Restaurant...

Carly Steel the delightful presenter from the US channel TV Guide is in London town at the moment reporting on the premier of Sascha Cohen's new film The Dictator.  Myself and Aruna picked the Quince Restaurant in The Mayfair Hotel to host a 'shoe business meeting' with Carly.   A great restaurant choice, we were treated to dishes by celebrity chef Silvena Rowe who regularly appears on Saturday Kitchen.  Silvia has been described as the authority on modern Eastern Mediterranean cooking and her approach is bold, fragrant, sensual and above all, delicious.  We all wore our Seth’s and tucked into a poussin chunky leaf salad to start, followed by tasty juicy jumbo tiger prawns with grapefruit and oregano dressing.  The warm white chocolate cheesecake brownie with a scoop of coconut ice-cream was divine!  We will definitely be using this venue for our Aruna Seth ‘shoe meetings’ again soon and the Quince Restaurant comes highly recommended...

Kate Middleton style shoes...

Take a sneak-peek at us shooting some new Aruna Seth shoes in our photo-studio.  Can you spot some plain lovely versatile Aruna Seth shoes in the picture below?  These shoes will be great for all the summer weddings I've got coming up.  Looking at Kate Middleton and all the outfits she's worn over the past year as first year of being a Princess has been great.  Kate Middleton has been pairing some great classic Temperley and Erdem dresses with simple shoes for her appearances at events.  Kate Middleton's style has rubbed off on me and I'll be following her lead in the shoes she chooses to wear for events...

Wishing it would get sunny!

The weather in London has been terrible over the past few days, you can't leave the house without an umbrella.  Apparently it's been raining a few weeks worth in just a couple of days.  I'm still a hopeless, dedicated Aruna Seth follower though and the rain hasn't stopped me wearing my lovely new grey suede butterfly ballerina's.  I've been avoiding the puddles well but even so I think I'll have to replace them with a new pair soon but at least I can say throughout this rain Seth's have not left my feet.  I've been pairing my grey Seth ballerina's up with a beautiful white cape jacket from Reiss, a gorgeous skinny pair of jeans from Whistles which are a great investment purchase and cosy cashmere jumpers in between.  Fingers crossed this rain stops soon though and the sun comes out again...
